Masses select rulers by seeing who served country: Sanaullah

Former interior minister Rana Sanaullah asserted on Sunday that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was targeting the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to garner votes in Punjab in the upcoming elections.

Expressing his thoughts in Faisalabad, the PML-N stalwart said, "Whatever the PPP wants to say, it can, but the masses pick up the leaders by seeing who served the country in a better way."

He took a swipe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, "The uproar had been caused by labelling the opponents as looters during the tenure of the PTI-led government. The country's youth had been targeted through the use of social media.

“The country had started to witness ballooning inflation during the tenure of the deposed premier. He started to resort to vandalism after his tenure as premier had ended,” Sanaullah maintained.

Recalling the contributions made by his party, Sanaullah said: "The people know that it was the PML-N who made the country a nuclear power and started projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)."

– PML-N to form next govt –

Sanaullah averred on Sunday that his party will form the next government.

Addressing the public gathering in Faisalabad, Sanaullah recounted the PML-N’s tenure, saying, “During our tenure, the prices of sugar were Rs52 per kg and petrol Rs65 per litre. The price of the dollar was Rs110.”

He fired a broadside at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, saying, “What was the need to impose the PTI chairman on the country when the country was developing?"

“Those who are causing an uproar of inflation should remember where the country was standing in 2018. The PML-N had ended the power outage and menace of terrorism,” Sanaullah stated.
